The Colorado Mountain College Resort Management Program combines academic study with work experience opportunities in Steamboat Springs, one of our nation's finest resort areas.

Resort Management Locations

A resort town is the best place to learn Resort Management. Our Alpine Campus is located just above downtown Steamboat Springs, with a great view of the ski area. From the location, you will have access to study many hotel and resort operations, from bed and breakfast to the resort properties as the ski area base.

There are many opportunities to study outside the classroom and Steamboat Springs. Resort Management students travel to conferences such as the International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show in New York City, and Colorado Hotel and Restaurant Association activities . Students participate in these events on a professional level, networking with influential people in the industry.

Resort Management Faculty

Hospitality professionals bring years of career experience and national reputations to the classroom. One professor works as a consultant to an international golf resort in the summer. Other faculty members include: a general manager of lodging operations; restaurant managers; the CEO of a property management firm; rooms division managers; a chief of facility management; executive housekeepers; and human resource managers.

American Hotel and Motel Association Certification

Graduates of the Resort Management program are eligible to receive a nationally recognized diploma with certificates in three specialty areas from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Association (AHMA).

Transfer Options Many colleges and universities have accepted Resort Management credits earned at Colorado Mountain College. To provide a four-year business degree option, we have signed a special transfer agreement with Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.
